Education Ministry ready for floods during SPM, STPM & PT3 exams

We have prepared several options that we could use when any unforeseen situation arises

JITRA: The Education Ministry is ready to face any unforeseen circumstances that might disrupt the running of the Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3), Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said a special committee has been set up at ministry-level to prepare for any incidents, especially flooding.

“The committee, chaired by Education director-general Tan Sri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof, is responsible for looking into the overall situations at all states. We have prepared several options that we could use when any unforeseen situation arises,” Mahdzir told newsmen at the Darulaman Teachers Training Institute here today.

He said the ministry, via the state Education Department offices, has also has identified schools located at flood-prone areas in each state.

The PT3 written examination is expected to take place next month while the SPM and STPM examinations will be held in November.
